Smash Burger Pitas

Ingredients:

500 g lean beef mince
half a red onion, finely chopped
2 garlic clove(s), minced
30 ml fresh mint, finely chopped, A pinch of salt
2.5 ml black pepper
2.5 ml dried origanum
2.5 ml paprika
5 pita breads
175 g LANCEWOOD Tzatziki DIP de’lite®

Toppings:
1 tomato(es), chopped
1 a red onion, sliced
1 cucumber, chopped
fresh dill

Method

  1. In a large bowl, add the mince, onion, garlic, mint, salt, pepper, oregano and paprika. Use you hands to mix together well and divide into 5 balls.
  2. Heat a nonstick pan to medium-high heat. Place 1 meat ball in the centre, then top with a pita bread. Use a burger press or heavy saucepan to smash it down as flat as you can.
  3. Cook for 2 – 3 minutes until the mince is cooked through, then flip over and cook for another minute.
  4. Repeat with the remaining meat balls and pitas.


To serve:
  1. Spoon Tzatziki Dip into the centre of the burger, Top with tomato, cucumber, onion, feta and dill.
  2. Serve immediately and enjoy!
