Cheesy Meatball Subs

Ingredients:

500 g lean beef mince
Half an onion, finely chopped
125 ml breadcrumbs
1 large egg(s)
30 ml fresh parsley, finely chopped
30 ml fresh basil, finely chopped
2.5 ml chilli flakes
salt & freshly ground black pepper to taste
400 g Napolitana tomato sauce
4 hot dog rolls
45 ml garlic butter, melted
LANCEWOOD® Mozzarella
16 slices
fresh basil, chopped as garnish

Method

  1. Add the mince, onion, breadcrumbs, egg, parsley, basil, chilli flakes and seasoning to a large mixing bowl and mix well.
  2. Shape into 16 meatballs and place in the Air fryer basket.
  3. Air fry at 205°C for 11 minutes or until cooked through.
  4. Place the meatballs into a saucepan and coat with the pasta sauce. Heat over low heat for a 2-3 minutes and set aside to cool slightly.
  5. Slice the hot dog rolls in half and brush with melted garlic butter.
  6. Place 4 meatballs onto each roll and top with some pasta sauce.
  7. Lay 4 mozzarella slices over each hot dog and Air fry at 205°C for 2 – 3 minutes until the cheese has melted.
  8. Garnish with basil and enjoy as a delicious lunch.
