Cheesy Filled Dough Balls

Ingredients:

Dough balls:
1 kg bread dough
oil for deep frying

Filling (each will fill 10 dough balls):

Jalapeño:
50 g LANCEWOOD® Cheddar, finely grated
2 jalapeño(s), finely chopped

Biltong:
50 g LANCEWOOD® Cheddar, finely grated
50 g biltong, finely chopped

Peppadew:
50 g LANCEWOOD® Mature Cheddar, finely grated
30 g peppadews, finely chopped

For serving:
fresh parsley, chopped
LANCEWOOD DIP&TOP®

Method

  1. Divide the bread dough into 25 – 30 pieces. Shape each piece into a disk.
  2. Add your desired filling – place small amount in the centre of the disk. Fold to seal the dough around the filling. Roll into a ball.
  3. Heat oil in a pot over a medium-high heat. Once hot, add a few balls at a time to fry.
  4. Fry for 7 – 10 minutes, or until golden and cooked through.
  5. Sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley and enjoy warm with your favourite LANCEWOOD DIP&TOP®.
